Meet the team
Drew Ames
Co-Owner
Drew is a dedicated film producer and director with over 25 years of experience in both recorded and live productions. He graduated in 2008 from Missouri Western State University with a B.A. in Film and Cinema, which is what kickstarted his creative journey. His passion for storytelling is evident in his love for people and his skill in conducting compelling interviews. His genuine curiosity drives his exploration of the subjects in his films. Drew grew up a 5th generation cattle farmer which drives his passion for capturing the rustic beauty of agriculture.
Kyler brings over a decade of expertise in professional video production. A proud graduate of Missouri Western State University, he has a double B.S. in Convergent Media and Journalism, along with an Associate's degree in Business Marketing. His passion for storytelling is deeply rooted in a lifelong love of films and cinema, while his appreciation for agriculture was cultivated during summers spent on his uncle's chicken farm. With experience spanning live broadcast television, video editing, animation, motion graphics, website design, and field producing award-winning documentaries, Kyler is dedicated to crafting compelling visual narratives.

Cooper Herrington

Cooper is an award-winning writer, cinematographer, and director with over a decade of experience in the film industry. Since joining the Coin in a Log team in 2022, he has brought his passion for animals, plants, and mushrooms to life on screen. He studied Cinema Arts at Missouri Western State University, and has a background as a Cub and Eagle Scout which instilled in him a deep appreciation for nature and a curiosity about the animal kingdom. His unique perspective enriches the creative process, making him a valuable asset to any project.
Lily is the newest addition to our team, serving as our talented translator and Social Media Specialist. Hailing from the beautiful Upper Peninsula of Michigan, she moved to Kansas to pursue a double major in Spanish and Criminology at Benedictine College. While there, she enriched her education by studying in Spain and earning her ACTFL Biliteracy Certification. Known as a "Swiss army knife" of skills, Lily manages our social media presence and contributes in various ways to our projects. Outside of work, she enjoys running, making music, and cherishing moments with family and friends.

Lura is a passionate photographer who captures the extraordinary in everyday moments. With a background growing up on a family farm, she has developed a deep appreciation for nature's beauty, family warmth, and the art of storytelling.
As a BQA Certified photographer, Lura understands the need of correct animal handling while capturing some of our stunning imagery. Lura believes in building relationships with her subjects, understanding their vision, and creating a comfortable environment that fosters trust and creativity.
